    Big wheel

Fall is my favorite time of the year. Even with all the bright and varied colors to be seen some things still seem better with less.
This is part of a 50' tall water wheel in a small town park. It was shut down for the coming winter.

You've certainly found a great subject to "fill the frame" with. The image works quite nicely as a B&W.

Great subject and well rendered, Dave. My preference would be quite a bit more contrast and a slight lessening of the highlights. Be great if you can return and keep experimenting. It's when you can't get back it can hurt ! JMTCW

The conversion to B/W made the shot here. I am not fond of the peeking of the leaves though...

I do agree Izzie. I couldn't get the shot without some trees in the background and I also thought about trying to clone them all out.

Rather than use a clone tool, I would first try painting over them using the adjacent color of the sky. The tones in the sky are so even I think that method would work just as well and faster.

Thanks Mike, I shall try that.
