At the Tibetian market - C&C are welcome !!

Herewith I am sharing some of my photographs taken during my recent visit to a Tibetain Market. When I reached there, they were opening their stalls and I have captured their activities.

Kindly share your C&C for the same. If any of them is not working, kindly mention.

    Regards,

    Tejal

The first one of the chanting man works well but #1 and #2 don't really do anything for me.

    #3 and #4 are OK.

With #1 (second image), the blurred man on the left is just a distraction. If both figures were equally blurred I think it might look better to me. So I would crop out the blurred man and go square or 4 x 5 ratio.

I have thought about alternatives for #2 but can't find anything which really appeals to me. Maybe crop out the right side shadow? There is a nice bit of colour and it is a potentially interesting scene.

    Nice.
I like number 2. It's makes me think the man has been cut in two with the head and torso replaced by the foreground shadow. I like the colours and the proportions of the large areas.

    Nice series.

    1. Nice capture of the movement and your subject. This is one of those images that make you wonder what's going on, where is he and I doubt if the location is as important to you as the man. Have you consider either darkening the background or making it more out of focus?

    2. Nice composition and another "wonder what's going on here" image. For this one it works as is.

    3. Nicely composed and exposed.

    4. Wow, nice dynamic colors and shapes.

Thank you for your comment. I have taken it bit underexposed. Since it is a street photograph I have not changed anything except dodging a bit in darker part.

    Hi Tejal,

    # Chanting - Good, slight shame his fingers caught the sun and blew out, might be worth toning them down if possible and/or brightening him and his shirt a little by dodging.

#1 (second image) - Is that you we see reflected in the mirror? (nice to see you)
I think this needs all three humans to work (for me) and i can live with him being blurred as he's rushing about to set things up, however; I may not have felt the same if you hadn't explained this and if we hadn't seen the same chap in # Chanting.

#2 My reaction was as Bill mentioned
It is a slight shame about the shadow of pole with signs on, but you can't afford to crop that much off compositionally and may not wish to clone it out (as Street). It works for me regardless.

#3 If any, this is the weakest for me. Might be better if it were cropped to lose some from the right hand side, putting the chap exiting the marquee closer to the RH 'thirds' line.

#4 Not exciting, but compositionally better than #3 for me. I like the diagonal 'three heads' line formed of the guy, his shadow and your shadow.

Those are my personal thoughts, I hope they're helpful, but don't feel you have to agree with me.

    Cheers, Dave

Hi Dave !! Glade to see your new DP. Thanks for your detailed feedback.

    # Chanting - I think it will be easier to work on blew out fingers . I will work on it.

#1 : The blurred person, to capture the feel of action, I have capture it with slow speed. As nothing so exciting they were doing other than arranging items in their stall. And have tried to capture rest things/the lady specially, sharp enough.

#2 : I was also not liking that pole. I was aware of that pole while taking pics but there was no other option. I didnt get time also as they were quickly opening their stalls to start their work.

#3 : I had same thought on it.

#4: Only color, pattern and shadow effect only made me to take this shot.
