    Autumn in North Wexford

Went walking in a woodland just about two kilometers from home to capture the last flush of Autumn.

What a lovely place near where you live Neville All very nice shots. I think the bridge in #2 looks leaning backwards a bit and it needs some perspective correction.

They all look good to me. Maybe the bridge appears to be at a bit of an odd angle but it works OK for me and many of these old bridges were constructed to fit into their surroundings, just like this one.

Thank you Binnur, Geoff and Maurice for your generous comments. Ireland's typical autumnal display although normally quite muted has been quite impressive this year. Climate change perhaps?

What a lovely set of images.

I think the only thing you need to think about is the inclusion of people in an image. Many landscape photographers would dismiss the notion. Those that would include people would work to make sure they were an integral part of the image and not seeing to be there just by accident. That doesn't necessarily mean having to set it up with people posing for the shot, but the composition needs to be such that it is clear that the photographer intended to have people where they are for a specific purpose.

The 2nd last in the series above could maybe stand that sort of analysis.

Many thanks guys for your comments. This is a nice stretch of river with a random variety of trees along both sides. This is the first time I explored all of it in the ten years since we moved into the area. It's a three hour walk including stops to photograph. In the entire three hours I met only three people.
Donald, your thought about inclusion of people in landscape composition is interesting. I was about to trip the shutter when the two women with dogs appeared. I paused as I would have preferred to wait until the figures were more prominent in the frame but the two large dogs had spotted me and came bounding at speed towards me. I took the shot quickly and then began to think about whether these Doberman dogs were hostile! As it happens they were extremely playful but docile - which is why I survived to post these shots.

Autumn is a beautiful time of year in this part of the world. As the leaves change colour they become more delicate and then a strong wind comes and blows them away. The trick is to photograph the effect just before that happens.
