Wonderful detail in both the sky and trees. The trees appear overly sharpened but that might be only in the downsized image displayed here, not your master file.

What a wonderful sky. I personally feel you can tell yourself you're getting to grips with B & W conversion work when you start producing skies like this. It pulls out just enough detail and structure in the sky without overdoing it (which I think is the biggest mistake that the less experienced make). The patchwork of tones in the trees reminds me exactly of that - a patchwork quilt. Beautiful.

It doesn't have one main focal point that draws the eye, but I think if you approach viewing it as a study in light and tone, then it doesn't need that.

Mike - I tend to over sharpen so I would agree with your observation. Thanks for the complements.

Donald, you see it very much the way I do as a study of light and tone. I did not think that much of the sky except the lighter clouds in the forefront help add a balance in tones. Thanks for your comments.
