It looks like what in Holland was used to call a bicycle with help engine.

A bit intriged by this photo for I was a couple of year ago in Czechia in the Skoda museum. That company started with bikes and later with motorbikes. The bike was still recognized in it, like this one. And they where dated around 1900, I think.
This one looks like them. But when examining it, it looks like it has a gun on its steering wheel. And the rider wears something like a military helmet. Is this a bike from the time of the Boer War?
