Excellent image, would like to see colour shot.
That's nice Sharon. Like the light warm tint.
Nice image Sharon.I like the conversion also even though I am a big fan of the red channel
Very nice image. I like the way that the reflection is slightly distorted by (I presume) ripples on the surface of the Lochan.

Nicely captured.
Sharon,
I like your image but am puzzled by the large amount of noise in the sky and its reflection. Would you consider sharing your objective in processing the image that way?
André
Thank you Andre,
I am glad you like the image...and I assume that since a large amount of it IS the sky and reflection then something in the treatment of those aspects must have appealed.
My total and sole objective when processing is to achieve something that pleases me....what other objective can you have?
Maybe it is just not a very good pic..and that's fine too.

Unless you're on commission for a client who's paying you an awful lot of money, that, as my photographic guru Ansel Adams implied, is the purpose of photography. If you don't like what you've produced then you cannot expect anyone else to like it. If you like it and others are less sure, then that's unfortunate, but at least you've been true to your principles and intentions.

Succinctly put.
Thank you Donald.
Maurice, if you look at the images in the flickr link that Sharon posted you will get a good understanding of where this shot fits - as has been said more than once in the Forum here and emphasised by Sharon and Donald in #9 and 10 below, there's a large element of personal taste in how much if at all you like a photograph, but I like these
Hi Sharon,
Judging from your reply to my post above, I feel that I owe you an apology for not making it clearer that I like your picture as is, including the noise in the sky and its reflection. I did not mean to imply that it should have been processed any differently than you did.
The reason that I asked is that I am trying to improve the artistic aspect of my photography. It would never had occurred to me to introduce noise selectively in a picture. I have heard of adding noise to a B & W digital photo to make it look old fashioned and create a somewhat melancholic mood. It doesn't look to me that this is what you were trying to achieve in this case. Hence my question.
I too usually try to create pictures based on what I like but occasionally sacrifice my principles to accommodate my wife's taste.
Again, please accept my apologies if my original post offended you in any way.
André
Hi, Sharon
Oftentimes I feel a quiet hint of ecstasy when I experience solitude without loneliness. This image gives me a pang of solitude
with loneliness. I find it very evocative. I that would be completely lost in colour.
