    Aurora and cabin

Sometimes a suggestion will spark a thought.

As an art project the local arts society is taking an old trencher (like a bulldozer, only has a pole extension with an excavator bucket on a cable out the front) left abandoned after the Alaska Highway was built in 1943 and laser etching scenes onto the treads. They asked for simple line drawings suitable for the project.

I wondered if I could process his image into a high contrast image for the project. That did not work, too complex an image to get the details in the old cabin to stand out. However it was worthwhile as it yielded a variant on the image I would never of thought of without the stimulus

Such a wonderful interpretation! I don't remember ever seeing the aurora displayed in a monochrome image. It certainly works exceptionally well in this case.

Thanks all. Made some very weird versions to get here. However both the journey and destination were worthwhile.

There is only one person from the northern Virginia suburb of Washington DC who has posted in the thread and I can confirm with unquestionable authority that he is NOT a gentleman.
