    Fashionista in NYC

On our recent Mother/Daughter trip to NYC, the resident Fashionista may have wanted 1 or 2 photos with her in them for Instagram... me? I prefer to stay on the right side of the lens

There was quite the line to have a snap with this sign, but wasn't a problem, I kept myself amused helping others get their phone snaps that bit better
If I select this one to go into the photo book, I will of course get rid of the detritus text etc on the black base.

Here we were attempting to get the landmark & model in shot, without the 'up the nose' scenario..
We must have looked clever, because many tourists came right up to me looking at the screen on my camera!
I thought it would be churlish to ask for personal space in a city of so many million persons.

Same place, different viewpoint, again trying to get both scene & subject working together.

When everyone rushed to one side, that's a perfect moment to snap from the other

This spot is known to the young instagramers (is that even a word?) anyway, it was on her list. This was the only time I felt uneasy in the city.
This wall is down the end of an alley, several people who maybe were sleeping rough were at one end, minding their own business as we were ours.
Then a different guy came down the alley, not to walk through, he just stood and watched us.
I walked to Georgie said we leave here now - my tone told her this was not the moment to ask for 'just 1 more, with my hair this way'

    last one.

Firstly, I hope both of you enjoyed the trip and that all the travelling was worth it.

What a wonderful gallery of images. My only comment by way of suggestion is that, in the last one, I might have thought about cropping it at the left just before the sky and roofline came into view.

    Wonderful stuff, Kay.

Thank you Donald, yes we had a great trip, missed a couple of things on my list as I got sick, but no matter we'll just have to go back!
I will try your crop suggestion.
    Thank you John.
Thanks Maurice, I am very lucky to have my daughter as my travel buddy.

Lucky you! Specially with your daughter willing to pose for you...did you get the chance to go to the atrium of the Trump Towers? I haven't been, especially now, so I am asking.

Thanks Izzie, it's a good team, she likes posing, I like taking photos

We actually went into that complex, looking for the dedicated Nike store, on a day where there was a large crowd protesting or supporting outside.
I had a chat to a Police Officer on the way out about how we don't see this in Australia.
DT came out after we had left.

That's a very nice set of images Kay- cut above my general holiday snaps. Lovely model as well. I bet your proud. Stand out for me is no. 2. It works so well in encapsulating what you were there for.

Nice set, Kay. The second is the standout for me because of the shooting angle and the variety of shapes.

Your set in NY is awesome! I like photos with the girl near the LOVE and Heart poster. They are bright, colorful and fresh! I've tried to do a fashion set for a long time, but it's still unsuccessful. But your backgrounds gave me some inspiration. Have you ever participated in Photo contests? I found one for myself lately but I think my photos are out of quality for it. Fashion Photography VIPA 2016 - https://www.voubs.com/contests/fashi...-vipa-2016/254 There are free participation and big award - € 6000. And only 19 participants for this time. You can easily win
