Always interesting to see how things have evolved Brian,

You seem to have an abundance of (unusual to me) things to shoot.

    Great capture and result, Dave

    PS
If I were to critique anything, it would be the tiny white fleck that is sharp and bright in lower left corner - but I think you left it there just so I had something to say

Very nice capture. I think, however, that your specimen is a member of the Lycaenidae family of gossamer-winged butterflies. The "tails" on your butterfly's wings are sometimes a characteristic of members of this family of butterflies. Additionally, your specimen looks very similar to one found in Illinois, the "Grey Hairstreak," which is member of Lycaenidae. Although I am not certain, your specimen looks small-sized, like the Grey Hairstreaks I find in Illinois.

You know me too well Dave. I did take out two others.
I'm pretty sure the beasties in your neighborhood would be exotic to me.

The Tamron 90mm is an excellent lens for my Sony and I was almost at maximum minimum distance. I may never get a better shot.

my id's are questionable at best. The Grey Streak is similar but it stands on six legs while the one I shot is standing on only four.

Having seen the butterfly in 3-dimensions, and having photographed it, you know best. Regardless of the butterfly's taxonomic classification, the photo in this post, and the photo in your other post, are both first-rate.
