Lucy
Lucy is one of the two dogs that I picked up last night. We think that she might be a West Highland Terrier (Westie) + Maltese Mix but, could be just about anything, including a Maltese - Chihuahua. She has been trained and is quite the nice dog and she bonds very quickly and easily to humans...
I will not shoot the other dog I picked up last night because she is in pain from bladder stones. She is going in for surgery this morning...

Re: Lucy
Lucy is a lovely looking little dog Richard, I'm sure the surgery will go well for the other little one too.

Our vet is just excellent and she gives us good prices also (which is always critical for a rescue group). She has a surgeon on her staff that is really super and who has saved the lives of many of our rescue dogs. We probably put 100-150 dogs a year through her practice - the rest of our dogs go to a Los Angeles vet (we have about half of our rescue in the L.A. area and half down here in San Diego County) However when the surgery is critical, we bring the dogs down to our area because of the vet and because my wife is a retired registered nurse.
Our dogs get excellent care all around. We are going to total up our vet costs for 2016. I suspect that the total will be mind boggling for a relatively small rescue...

Re: Lucy
What a lovely portrait of her, in image 1.
She will be loved, in her new home I'm sure.

Re: Lucy
Lucy and five other dogs were adopted today at our Santa Paws event and we have a firm commitment from another family to adopt a seventh dog tomorrow.
