The elements can be made quite beautiful with the right elements. Nice captures, haunting yet blissful.
Beautiful, subtle images. I think the first might be better with a small amount cropped off the top.
Kathy, lovely images. For me number 2 is exquisite. There is something not quite balanced in the first, though I can't quite put my finger on it.

Dave
Fantastic images, lovely soft colour. There's nothing to dislike, great capture.
I love #2 Kathy but #1 not so much.
Beautiful... These would look good on a wall...
#2 superb. However this expat Canuck does not miss winter.
Kathy, I like the first one. I like the absence of anything in the foreground.
I like metal prints. One does not have to worry about weight, framing, etc. And they are not as pricey as a good frame.
Stay warm.
Kathy - let me be a bit of a nit-picker here. Both images look like they have been deliberately over exposed and it looks like you have done some very heavy duty lightening along the top of the first image and on the left hand side of the second. These areas don't have the same blue overtones as the other light areas of the image.
It strikes me that these are likely more of a PP creation, rather than an accurate representation of what the lighting was doing when you took these shots.
I agree with Dave but suspect that the first photo could be made to appear in balance by lightening up the half tree on the left hand side so that it looks a bit like it is in mist.
(I am happily viewing it from my warm room, late in the afternoon on a sunny summer day )
