Helpful Posts: The missus wanted to know what stocking filler I wanted for Christmas and I recalled I had seen a rather odd but cool looking LED macro light so got her to order me one. She is at work so I had a quick and sneaky try before she wraps it up - had to make sure it was working
Looks like it will be a fascinating bit of kit to experiment with and I'll report back after the 25th with a more detailed report.

I'd be interested to know (when the time comes), whether they stay put (or droop) when extended forwards to a typical shooting position.

It will be a hell of a wait before you can show off your prowess at manipulating that light. I just googled this at our Amazon site here and it doesn't cost much...$37.+ or something...not bad...and it will make me look like a martian.
and I am making a fashion statement to boot.

The Magic Elf bit comes from the label on the box, just in case you thought I was getting a little christmassy
