    Lumina Borealis (Image heavy)

I went to Fort Henry, in Kingston, Canada this evening to the Lumina Borealis interative sound and light show.

This is the projection on the wall to the entrance of the lower fort of this 19th century British fort. The whole area is part of the Rideau Canal UNESCO World Heritage Site. Fort Henry was built to protect the Kingston Royal Naval Shipyards and the entrance of the Rideau Canal.

That's a really good set of images Manfred, each one perfectly exposed. 2 and 3 are just magical. I'm also intrigued by what's going on in no. 7 and by how you (or the camera perhaps) have handled the light balance given the expanse of BG.

John - that's a trick I learned during the Colour Correction course (it was a full semester course at the local community college) that I took a couple of yeas ago. The context was wedding photography, but the process is universal - "get the skin colour of the main subject correct, and no one will notice the other colours are off". That's effectively all I did here and the image has a lot of magenta added (the SOOC lighting had a noticeable green colour cast), but with the funky lighting, no one notices unless someone points it out. When things are really bad, I sometimes do local corrections using layer masks, but didn't have to go that far in this shot.

Nice set which gives a good sense of the place, Manfred. Discussion of color is interesting. Unless one has been there we have no frame of reference as to what is "correct" until the last image with the people in it. And even then we don't know what color light is illuminating their faces. We must simply trust your presentation of the scene

    Nicely done.
