Took my camera on a shopping trip

with the wife the other day, down to Newport Beach donchano.
Couldn't believe this was for sale...

Took my camera on a shopping trip

Hand held, 1/15 sec, 125 ISO, don't know what f-stop, probably 1.2 or so judging by the dof. No flash either.

Never ceases to amaze me what people will spend their money on.

Thanks to this forum and couple of others I'm really enjoying using my camera(s).

Well spotted and taken. I like it but would not buy it.

Same for me. One reason I like it is because of the nice color and rich feel. I only wish the depth of field had allowed the nose to also be in focus.

Sorry Mike, it had to be the eyes in focus. At 1.2 hand held I'm lucky I got them as well as I did. Even with the IBIS working overtime I think I was lucky as 1/15th seems to be my limit. Guess I could have changed the ISO to something a bit higher, right?

Like it sort of. A bit eerie but why not use ISO 400 or higher.

If I have to choose between a low ISO image with DOF compromise and possible camera shake (well done at 1/15 no shake apparent) or high ISO risk of noise but well captured image I always opt for the latter.

Bingo! My motto is to get the shot we want and improve the quality later. If we want a large depth of field that requires cranking up the ISO, crank it up!

I hear you guys, loud and clear. Notice, it isn't shot at my 'normal' ISO 100.

Both good finds, but do me a favour, that since it is Christmas around the corner I wish you'd find some smiley ones...I like smiley shots or objects or people...more excitement....and friendlier...
