Hockey Lens for End Zone Action

The traditional sport of polo is played on a grass field up to 300 by 160 yards (270 by 150 m).

Hockey rinks in most of the world follow the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) specifications, which is 61 metres (200 ft) × 30.5 metres (100 ft) with a corner radius of 8.5 metres (28 ft).

The apparent speed (not the measured speed) of a hockey match appears far faster than that of a polo match, even though the participants are probably not going as fast.

If you are shooting through the photography peep holes behind the goals the speed of the players is much more difficult to follow than are the polo players who are usually a further distance from the photo position.

Shooting hockey from a further distance (especially from an elevated vantage point) can make the game seem somewhat slower. However, the shots may not have the same impact...
