A New Visitor.

In the last couple of days some Gossander ducks have arrived at my local pond.
The first couple of days was overcast and could not capture the green neck on the male.
Today the sun was out and no clouds and the images are the results.
Even with favourable lighting conditions it is hard to capture the green, the angle of the duck to the Sun determined how much green was visible (hope that makes sense).
All were taken on a tripod.

It's interesting how the iridescent colors do/don't show on bird feathers depending on lighting. This is a beautiful duck and well captured. I like the first shot best for the bird's pose. Nice low angle on all of them. Well done.

Great clarity on what is normally a cautious bird.

We sometimes get a few on one river here; I have spotted them on occasions but never even managed so much as distant out of focus snap on them.

This one was not to cautious, the shadow on the RH side of the path, is of a woman with a dog.
