Interesting stuff. I can not see the pattern on my ipad mini with retina dsiplay when viewed in Chrome or Safari but if I save the image and view it using Photos I can see the pattern! Similarly I can't see it on my pc with a standard Benq monitor using Chrome or IE but I can see it if I view the image in FastStone Viewer. Can't see it in PS CS6.

I suspect the concept of Rendering Intent (see the CiC tutorial) is coming into play with different forms of colour management in different software. This affects how out of gamut colours are displayed in the working colour space.

Just tried the same with an iPad Air - can't see it in Safari, can't see it in thumbnail form in Photo's but I can see it when you view it full screen.

Interesting article George, especially seeing how you can select Rendering Intent mode.

On a side note, I can see the pattern in the image when i open an email with it enclosed, using Thunderbird email software(which is a stablemate of Firefox).

Yes, I see it in FF, but not Chrome.
