Thread: Frosted fields

    Frosted fields

A re-processing of an old shot. (If I get any nice crisp days this winter, I will hopefully get over these fields, which are at present simply a muddy quagmire).

Very nice image; absence of usual greens, blues, etc. makes it noticeably different

Typical English winter scene, including a village in the far distance. Good clarity.

Nice landscape, well captured. Great clarity and DoF.

    Thanks Binnur.
I'm not sure which bit looks purple. Do you mean that the white has a purple tinge? Certainly a lot of the bare twigs and small branches often have a somewhat purplish tinge. But if there is an overall purple to the whites (which I can't see myself) possibly because my screen is not calibrated. And my family often tell me I'm colourblind because we have endless arguments over the colour of flowers, which I say are mauve and they say are pink

I mean the purple on the bare twigs and small branches in the FG Dave. The middle greens look ok, I can't see purple on them The sky and the trees near sky and top branches of the big tree on the right have some purple tinge too

Any discussion about color between one person using a calibrated monitor and another person using one that is not calibrated will be fruitless.

    Hi Binnur,

I can see what you mean now, looking on my laptop rather than my iPad! Not quite sure why it has that tint, but I don't dislike it. As you can see, the shadows are pretty long, though the photo was taken almost exactly at the time that the sun was at its highest. But at midday on Jan 1st, when shot, the sun here only reaches 14 degrees
