Good clear action shot taken in potentially difficult exposure conditions.

    Re: Takeoff

    Good angle and exposure John,

However, if mine, I'd have fixed the CA in ACR (or PS CC) and sharpened a little less.

The EXIF is a little odd, it suggests the lens was an 18-200mm, but also says the focal length was 280mm equivalent to 420mm, was a teleconverter also in the mix?

    PS
In the EXIF, the (probably camera embedded) copyright statement is dated "2010", guess you've had that D90 a while
    PPS
I think mine still says "2015"

Nicely surprising shot! agree with Dave: would sharpen a little less.

    Thanks all for the comments.

Dave - ??? I can't see any CA and surely if it was over sharpened you would see a distinct halo particularly around the stays. I'm not talking about pixel peeping - there will always be some around high contrast edges - but taking the image as a whole. There is a bit of a halo at the end of the port wing but I suspect that is due to some sloppy selection when I lightened the underside of the canopy.

This is an old image, not that I suspect it matters. When I upload images from the camera, I tend to PP what I perceive to be the best first and often, I have been out with the camera once more before the remainder have been considered. They then get passed over for whatever I like in the new batch. Consequently, occasionally I trawl through past folders to if there is any potential that I might have missed. This is one such. If you re-check the EXIF, you will see that it was made in 2010 but only processed in Dec 2016.

Copyright notices get added to a whole upload (where I remember) as part of the Bridge upload process.

Yup, it is likely that I would have fitted a 1.4x tele-converter in this sort of situation given that I would have been on the perimeter of the airfield. I didn't have a long lens back then but nothing odd in that though is there?
