    Lightroom mobile

I have Lightroom mobile on my iphone 6 and synced to lightroom on my computer so that all my photos are transferred across.I want to free up some space on my phone by deleting photos off it, will this also cause the copies on my computer to be erased as well?

Thats not a safe way of backing up your images.

Plug your phone into your computer, create a file (file structure) for your images and copy them across. You can do this in Lightroom or independently but you know you have a physical copy this way and if you have back-ups running (You do I assume) the images will be backed up with the rest of your work. Then and only then should you think about deleting stuff from the phone.

You could also make sure all your images are backed up to Apple's iCloud then go into the settings on your phone and ask it to optimise storage. This will keep the full sized file in the cloud and keep a smaller one on your phone, saving space and letting you have access to all your images.

No - Lightroom will recognise the iPhone and let you pull images straight from it or you could import via Photos assuming it hasn't already done so via the iCloud.

Speaking of LR mobile, anyone know how to shut it off? I don't use it but every time I start LR I get an annoying pop-up notifying me that it failed to synch, duh.

Slightly counterintuitive but sign into it when prompted - then pause it and it'll leave you alone.

Thanks, Robin. I suppose I have to set up some sort of account in order to sign in. But I run LR on a machine that I never connect to the internet. Sounds a bit like a circular problem.

Do you have a basic Adobe ID?
