Life is a blur
I read with interest a thread somewhere else on this site about blur.
I do it on purpose.
At least that's what I'm saying. Most times Its just my sluggishness or laziness to make any adjustments.

Looks like it was shot through the bottom of an empty wine bottle.

Now there's an idea. Thanks Dan. I'm off to the bottle shop.

I like it. Both the wine and the picture.

Re: Life is a blur
No matter how fast the shutter opens and closes or how stead the hand, sharpness will always be compromised, not just physically but conceptually.
Few photographs tell us exactly what is going on. Our sight is often blurred by the search for beauty or perfection.
Our perception is often lost in our own prejudices. Our willingness to see clearly can even be fogged by what we assume is true.
The blurred image may be closer to the truth than you think.

Re: Life is a blur
A couple more from the blurred line.
Hand holding in the late light of the afternoon during inclement weather has its risks. None of the usual considerations are made such as ISO, aperture and tripod. I rely on my waist level viewfinder, a steady stance and, what my Ol Man taught me, hold my breath.
The secret seems to be not so much in the sharpness but in clarity of thought.
Nothing is still in the street, including me. Translating the movement into a 'still' image is the goal.
The policeman holds his ground while the crowd jossle. There is order within the chaos.
And finally, the mood of the day.
