Time for a snow man. Fresh snow is so lovely. Unfortunately it creates work too.

Nice shots. I'm jealous: Christmas Day here is forecast to be a record high temperature, very windy and wet. I'd like snow like yours for a couple of days to get some nice photos, then for it to melt away overnight

I can almost hear the quietness

(if anyone knows what I mean, perhaps less 'unusual' to those who get snow each and every winter)

Closer shots are OK, except for a tiny bit of Christmas decoration on the right side of #2; but the best for me is #3 which shows the entire trees and full scene.

I know exactly what you mean, Dave. Two things I always associate with waking up to a snowfall: the quiet, and the extra brightness in my room even pre-dawn from the reflective snow

Dan - The snow was perfect for making snowmen; very sticky and somewhat heavy. As for work, I prefer to look at it as an opportunity to enjoy the fresh air while getting a bit of exercise.

Dave - We are guaranteed a white Christmas. It is now Christmas eve and it is snowing again. Love it. You are right, fresh snow is very reflective. I use to enjoy cross-country skying at night and rarely needed a light when the snow was fresh.

    John - Thank you

Dave - I don't know if the quietness is due to the fresh snow absorbing sound, the calmness of the air or is purely psychological but it is always enjoyable snowfall after snowfall.

Geoff - I tend to prefer #2 because it shows the extraordinary amount of snow that can pile-up on the tiniest of twigs. I agree with you that the overall view better conveys the serenity of the scene. The first one lacks a focal point. I might try to crop some of the snow at the bottom of it to see if that helps. Thanks for your comments.

    Maurice - Thank you
