When all you had was your mobile...

I’ve got a DSLR in a camera bag in the closet and a non-DSLR superzoom camera in my work bag which would also have to be dug out, but my iPhone is always nearby at home or on my hip when I go out. So chances are any photo I take on the fly will be with the mobile.

I usually end up shooting sunsets, general scenics, architecture or events. Here are a few examples of my iPhone photos with a bit of post-processing to make them less crappy and more interesting, I think… Feel free to add yours with a bit of a story behind them if you wish.

A whole mix of different styles and genre, but with a common thread - they are all very fine images.

Much as some of us have been slow to embace it, there is now a big world out there of mobile/cell phone photography (and I don't mean the millions out there snapping selfies and pics of friends, etc. These images show us that with the technology in the right hands, high quality images can be produced.

An interesting thread. I have to say that I rarely think about my phone for anything but snapshots to e-mail. I often carry a Lumix LX-100 with me; I can just toss it in my briefcase, and it fits in the pockets of most jackets. It's far more functional than a phone, and I've been able to get some very good images with it. However, even that is not as convenient as a phone, and I certainly don't have it with me all the time, unlike my phone.

I actively use my phone as a camera often taking it out specifically to shoot images with. I upgraded to a 7 Plus recently as I wanted the twin cameras, which have proved to be outstanding......even though I think the phone is far too big. As someone who is days away from finishing a 366 project I have to say having an iPhone on me at all times have been invaluable.

I went out this morning with the iPhone and a tripod specifically to push it and see what it could achieve...

This was an opportunistic shot whilst out with the family - great colours, great light and a great effort from the phone...

Another from my regular dog walks along the beach...

One of the reasons for getting the 7 Plus is its portrait mode...

A bit of BTS action with the phone mounted to my tripod with a Manfrotto adapter...

    Its shoots video too...

There is a mix of stuff on here but much of it has been shot with various iPhones over the years...
