It has a bit of a Salvador Dali look, but this is an item found in the Fire Hall museum on Ile aux Marins, on the French Overseas collectivity of Saint Pierre and Miquelon. Modern engineered resins don't seem to do high heat particularly well...

Not without some sort of fiber reinforcement any way. Even then "high heat" is relative.
