Both are nice, each look more like weather events.

Thanks John. there was a lot of water the driller said he hadn't seen that much water in a long time.

He certainly looks to be concentrating on the job at hand. IMO the color works better in this situation. The guy disappears into the BG in the B/W.

I agree. I wasn't going to even post the B&W but it was there so I did for the fun of it.

Thanks Richard. I think the tones of the yellow and the green were to close and the guy sort of blended in in the black and white.

It's interesting that in colour the driller's suite really pops and he stand out very well, yet in B&W he seems to disappear into the background as his tonal characteristics are similar to the area. I have seen the same phenomenon for hunters' DPMs which are quite a bright orange colour, yet to their prey, who assumedly see in monochrome will just see the broken pattern.

Give it a try, if it don't work, nothing lost. Colour for me but not by much.
