    Fire Pine

As the Christmas season came to a close, I found myself wondering what to do with our 7' tree. I decided to prop it up in the fire pit and torch it. And if I was going to torch it, I might as well photograph it! So out to the back yard I went while my wife stood by with the fire extinguisher, just in case. I lit the tree in one spot near the bottom and walked back to where I had the tripod set. I must admit, I didn't expect it to go up that fast. From the 1st photo to the last was a total of 2 minutes and 8 seconds. I might reconsider having a fresh cut tree in the house next year.....but I doubt I will be that smart

Fortunately, I don't have to decide whether the series or the first image is better. This is truly remarkable stuff!

Thanks Mike. It all happened much quicker than I anticipated so I am quite happy with the results.

Flames are so difficult to photograph and get them looking natural; so these shots have worked well.

Great job Jon with it all happening so fast it is hard to react to it.
