Re: Boy meets Girl
Nice one, Graham. Perfect fur color and texture for shooting backlit. Well done.
More of those beach lovers we were talking about

Re: Boy meets Girl
Graham, this is a great shot. You can see he excitement in the taller (male?) dog and see the reaction in the shorter (female?) dog. It makes me smile to see these two poochies in such typical doggie poses.
I might brighten the dogs a tad. I used NIK Viveza and selected each dog. I then used the shadow slider, the brightness slider and the structure slider to adjust the dogs...

Re: Boy meets Girl
Thanks for the comments.
Yes Richard the long legged one is the male and the shorter one is my female Maltese/Bichon (Jazz). Even though there are shadows here it was a generally overcast and very windy day at the beach that day so back lit dogs ended up dull and Jazz looks decidedly wind blown. I like your suggestion re lightening them.
I've used Intensify to lighten the midtones only on the dogs. I think it's preserved the pink of Jazz's harness a little better. Maybe a tiny increase in exposure would lift it a little more as well.

Re: Boy meets Girl
Your final version seems just about on the nail for me Graham. If you lighten it too much, it will begin to look artificial. A nice moment nicely caught.
