    Mallards in flight

After some good advice from Geoff F and NorthernFocus in a previous thread, re BIF.
I took there advice of shooting on manual with a minimum of f8 and 1/1000sec and adjusted the ISO.
Below are some of my attempts.
    C&C most welcome.

    1 F8 1/1250sec ISO 800 FL 150mm

You have managed some unusual angles there; and mouth open as well with the second image.

A flying bird's eye contact is quite rare; really nice pair of images

Thanks Geoff, with these images I was slightly above the ducks when taking the shots.

IMO #1 is especially good, as the curve of the front duck's tail follows the curve of the following duck's wing; and there is nice separation between the two. Well done.

With #1 I had the camera on continuous shooting and managed to get 4 images of the ducks, but that was the best one by far.

Great light and nice shots Gary I really like the colors and details in #1, it is also nice compositionally. I would clone the leaf (?) near the bottom right corner.

Great photos Gary. I particular like image #2 of the female. The water is beautiful, the blue wing feathers are nicely showing, the eye detail, and the open beak all make for a superb image.

Nice shot ....capturing the eyes of the mallard. Can I ask with camera you used? Focusing is so important with moving wildlife. If you were tracking these birds I'll bet you you used servo when shooting continuous eh?
