Re: 2017 Project 52, First Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Visited Tiffany Falls today. Access to the Falls was dicey with the trail covered with ice. Made it without damage to self or camera!
The falls: Almost frozen over, but with a little flow under the ice. Overcast day, taken around noon. f 11, 1/400, ISO 400.

The composition in your second shot is really nice! Looks like a great destination for a winter walk if you can stay upright!

Nice set, any chance you'll return before it thaws?

I like the second image Joe . I just pushed the highlight slider in ACR to the left and see what happened to the image ;)

Well focused scenes and without any over exposure which must have been a potential problem.

I don't know John! We are at the mercy of Global Warming and the Polar Vortex! I it stays cold for a while longer I will certainly return, this time with spikes on my shoes and a few extra lenses.

Re: 2017 Project 52, First Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Some more pics taken from my visit to Tiffany Falls.
The first is an image of the creek leaving the falls which is just out of frame on the top. There is a lot of ice and snow with most of the water flowing below. ISO 400 1/40", 34mm,f 11.

Another spot along the creek:

Finally the rush of water snow and ice between the boulders. I did not know how best to handle the large boulder
in the foreground. I just seems too prominent. I tried lightening it, and then I darkened it but did not like either. Suggestions appreciated.

Re: 2017 Project 52, First Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Nice series and love your narrative and learning experience - helps us all. To answer your last question I think I would increase the vibrance, contrast and selectively saturate colours to bring out the greens and russet colours. The colours you have achieved in the second image as edited by Binnur would be a good guide

Thanks Kaye. In an effort to make the stream 'pop' I had elected to de-saturate the surrounding greens and russet colours, while selectively increasing the clarity, the whites and the highlights of the snow/water. Not sure if I achieved the desired effect or not.

Misty morning pictures. 1 is original, 2 is a mono conversion. #3 is a misty scene from Battlefield Park.

There is a bird in the frame which I decided to keep even if it is a distraction, I think it adds some atmosphere to the scene.

4. Same as #1 with extra bird removed.
