I do like #3, it is very atmospheric.
Though I think you will find there is two birds in the image, the other one is on the RH side of the tree.

I prefer the colour version of #1 because those subtle tints make the scene more obviously misty than with B&W. Maybe clone out the right side bird?

Thanks Geoff. I think you are right. I will clone out the 'extra bird'.

Another cloudy misty day. Seems like that's all we get now.

Looks good to me. The dark foreground has been kept to a minimum so it doesn't overwhelm those fine branches.

Another murky day here as well, with a mixture of rain and low misty cloud.

Wonderful; thinning the bush on the right bottom corner will make this look more composed?

This one looks great Joe I really like the parallel shape of the trees and the mist made a very moody image .

This is a tree on the beach of Lake Ontario. I tried to capture this in the summer when the tree had its full complement of leaves. That attempt was not successful. Today with the leaves all gone, the light more colourful and the tree structure more evident, I took another 'shot' at it. I think it is better. However I think it would have been better still had I used my wide angle lens.

Having ventured out on this blistering cold day I thought I would grab a few more images.

One of the many bays along the lake shore. You can see some geese huddled close to the shore-line trying to avoid the wind, which was too cold (for me also)

Your #3 is really nice. Might try getting a little more blue into the sky which will also make the orange-yellow trees more interesting! We have been having cold weather (cold for us) but nothing like what you all are enduring!

With the first one, Joe, I find that sapling in the foreground is disturbing the sweep of branches from the larger tree. I suspect you either have to cut down the sapling or find another angle to get this scene working well.
