Nice shot, IMO you can de-saturate a bit the BG, too green in my taste

Yes, just diffuse the B/G and that will give a greater result

Nicely captured but, the three dying dandelions upper left image attract my attention away from the main subject. Perhaps a tighter crop?

    Re: Dandelion

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. It actually was very green when the shot was taken but here's an updated version with reduced greens.
Also a bit of cloning and healing to remove the upper left dandelions because it's already cropped quite a bit and I wanted to keep the composition if I could.
    Cheers

Even now, i feel the criss-cross pattern does not fail to distract; so my feeling is that a bit more diffusion would help

    Re: Dandelion

    Hi Graham,

The cloned version is better and if I view just the second version (without previously looking at the area you cloned), I don't find it distracting.

What does now attract my attention is the slightly bright lower corners and suggest a minus 2/3 stop exposure vignette to darken them all down a bit.

The other thing that I think would help when viewing on a standard screen (mine is 1920 x 1080) is if the image had been downsized to say 900 or 950px tall, then output sharpened.

Yours is sharp, but I only see that if I go 1:1, which means it overflows my screen.
If I don't go 1:1 (so I can see whole composition), then the browser downsizes (and softens) it, which harms subject and background separation.

Of course, viewers with other screen resolutions may not see a difference.

    HTH, Dave
