Now you're talking, Trev. Nice set. The first two are awesome. No.1 is about what I had pictured in my mind. Doubt I'd have thought of something like no.2 and I like it a lot. Really well done on all of them.
Nice series Trev. The first image is spot on the gannet on the horizon line at the right adds to the image, well done. I'm looking forward to my next NZ trip, thanks for your help and suggestions for it.
Beautiful photos. The first two are my favorites.
Have you tried lightening the shadows on the last one to pull out a hint of definition on the bird? The pure black silhouette makes it look like it was pasted into the picture.
Hi Trev I really like #1 and #2. I haven't seen a silhouette image of a flying bird before, it actually goes very well with the dark clouds. May be lifting the shadows just a bit in the bird selectively as Arno suggested would make a better image.
Great work Trev, #4 super images. Looks like you had a beautiful evening shooting.
Nice series.
Beautiful set Trev.
Great images.... second comes first for me....
Thanks to Dan, John, Maurice, Nandakumar and Rita. Thanks also to Arno and Binnur for their comments - with regards to the bird in silhouette, I actually liked it in black as it came out, and when I have tried to lighten within its profile it looks washed out. However PP is definitely NOT my forte, so if anyone wants to have a shot to improve on the bird I would welcome your efforts and how you did it successfully.
In the meantime here is another gannet, caught on the wing, that appears to be showing a navigation light, correctly red on the port side! I believe it is actually a refraction through the feathers or a reflection of the sun's rays on water or oil on its wing, but still it looks funny.
A great series of images Trev.
