    The Moon and that Pier

In my previous thread of Saltburn Pier and cliff lift. I made reference to visiting for capturing the full moon. This image is two days later on 14th November 2016. As always your thoughts and comments are welcome.

The light has a quasi surreal look that is very appealing. Well done!

A striking mix between natural moonlight and artificial street lighting. Worth seeing with the lightbox view.

    I really like that.

People have commented, very appropriately, on the the light and lighting. But I'd also highlight composition. It's different and it's made up of very strong lines. The pier and the cliff complement each other and pull us from the front to the back of the image. The horizon is a very bold back-stop to the image. The line of buildings sweep us across the frame.

So, a number of separate elements arranged together to give us a striking image.

I loved the original image but must admit that this angle give real pop to it. great job letting your mind wander into alternate possibilities!

Re: The Moon and that Pier

Thanks everyone for taking time to look and comment on this image. My intention in the making of this image was to include something other than just the usual big moon type of image. The pier and the illuminated cliff lift track coupled with the street lighting on the sea, gave me those extra elements that I was hoping for. Mind you I did capture a couple of moon images from our front garden on my return home from Saltburn.

Love the composition , details of lines, the array of colors and the vibrance of them. Close to over kill on the color enhancements, but very tasteful.
