A Beggar In The Middle Of A Road

A beggar was in the middle of a pathway in a fair. I got a series of photos trying to show different perspective how the society looks at him. The place was dusty and due to slow-shutter speed which I opted for, some clarity is missing. However, I would like to have some reviews about these photos...

    Hi Kingshuk

These are all interesting shots, and from a content point of view each has its own merits. I particularly like nos. 2 and 3 - 2 because it emphasizes the movement around him, and 3 because one can see how crowded it is and how indifferent everyone seems. Well captured!

Nicely done, even without the explanation you can see the concept you were striving for.

Kingshuk, an excellent series. I particularly like the final shot ... in amongst all the hustle and bustle there are those who stop for a moment.... There is still some kindness about.

This is a good example of how motion blur can be used to create something different, instead of the 'normal' scene, by having the main subject stationary and well focused/exposed while other elements are allowed to blur.

very nice images, Geoff. I prefer #2 as it reflect the distinct antipathy we humans have for the homeless: no one is stopping - no one sees him (except the photographer). It shows what this man must be feeling. also, I like the color of this one - the warm, human colors that help the viewer know this is real...not just a cold image.

Kingshuk - in the future, would you mind numbering the images when you post a series. It makes it far easier for the members to refer to one of the shots that way. I've done it now.

I was going to say that #3 is the one that really caught my attention. This type of scene is very common in India so in that shot all we see is the people and don't even see the beggar at first. To me, that gives a good overview of the reality of that part of the world.

#1 to Geoff. I like the motion blur giving the scene a sense of the dynamic in the middle of a busy, crowded area. Having said that I also like #3 where the only one noticing the beggar is the little girl while all the other characters in the scene look elsewhere. It's the winner for me.

Thanks Manfred for the review...I will do the numbering next time onward for sure.
