    Bright winters' day

Well not today - but a couple of weeks ago we were blessed with lovely sunny winter weather. This is Poole Harbour from the quiet side of Arne

    C&C welcome

Colourful days in winter in this country are a rarity, so I'd like to see this in colour

Thanks all for you encouragement. Calm and tranquility seem to be a theme I continue to return to. Dave, I understand your sentiment, but this image was always going to be in b&w.

You captured serenity itself in this shot. I find calm water to be visually soothing. The only comment I have in the way of C/C is that the reflected clouds at bottom of frame are very distracting to me for some reason. Perhaps due to the brightness. My eye keeps getting drawn down there.

I do like your picture and I must say that it works better when viewed large. I like the subtle detail in the Purbecks in the distance and in the trees. Interesting that you clearly set out to make a mono image. (I'd still be interested in seeing it in colour. But I'll just have have to imagine those lovely shades of blue water and sky. I'm just remembering crossings from Sandbanks on the chain ferry on brillant late summer days and visits to Brownsea.)

Continued thanks for comments. Glad it brought back good memories Dave. Dan I have toned down the reflected clouds a little and wonder if this is better. I did try cropping them out but that created another picture which was not in mind.
