More from the Royal Ontario Museum. The placing of this exhibit was clearly deliberate and I wanted to demonstrate that. This is what I came up with.

Very nice captures! Well focused and exposed...

I like #1 the best because the distortion of the wide angle lens certainly adds to the image by concentrating my attention on the crucifix.

On #2, I would have liked to see just a tad of brown wall between the hands of Jesus and the white molding. That is just a minor point and really doesn't distract from the image...

Robin/Brian. Takes time to start recognising subjects that it might work for and it's a bit like selective colour, using it for novelty's sake soon loses it's attraction but in the end it has become part of my standard kit.

Mike you are too, too kind. I just can't spell Crucifixion (don't know what was going through my mind at the time).

Richard, I agree. Some separation would have been better. Just didn't see it at the time (not for the first time).

As has already been said - wonderful, creative use of the lens.

It's that thing about getting to know your gear; what it can and can't do. You then learn when is the right time to pull it our of the bag and when is not.

Which refers to the event at any rate. The sculpted image is typically called a crucifix.

Actually the event is well documented and almost universally accepted as factual. It's the identity of the individual and what occurred three days later that is typically where opinions diverge. There are only a couple billion of us who accept that part of the story.

I realize it was an honest and unintentional spelling. But for the record 'crucifiction' is the spelling used by some to mock the faith of others. Let me say again I realize this was not your intent
