As I mentioned earlier, I am not a winter photographer. Yet I could not resist the temptation and so I got out again in the cold. On my hiking trip of 2 hours I came to this forest, or I should say, I was still in the forest. I saw some fog through the trees and made this picture.



I also came across this small lake, in the summer dotted with beautiful lilies, now a frozen decor.

Actually, it is a special story. About 200 years ago the whole area where I live just swamp. A little back sooner the first inhabitants of the region started with the reclamation of this area, the Dutch have become famous for. Parts of the marsh was used as a fuel, also called peat. During the excavation of peat a lot of sand was released and were blown by the wind as dunes. To prevent my village would be immersed with sand trees ware therefore planted.

Hello Arnold: I do like the scene of the forest. That is a most unusual patch of fog. It seems to be confined to one spot and is well placed within the image.
