    ProPhoto RGB goes bonkers!

I call the image below "Blue Canyon" and while I like the effect, the often muddy Virgin River never runs blue through the Narrows in Zion National Park. I was "adjusting" (tormenting) the image's colors, originally in Adobe RGB, in the ProPhoto RGB color space when the blue appeared.

I like the rock formation but the water looks a bit flat, perhaps some tonal adjustment to the foreground would help.

It was in Adobe RGB, then you pulled into ProPhoto RGB...right?

    Correct. Then using Levels...blue happened.
