Nice dark and moody winter scenes.
Bleak landscapes but I think you achieve your goal. Very well executed and nice images.
#1 for me. Stay motivated
I am with Brian on the pick. Your framing was for the 'story' you were wanting to capture. Which you no doubt have done admirably. For me, not being there, in #2, #3 and #4 the large expanses of snow or ice seem to be a bit bland. But that is probably how it was and as we don't live any where near snow we probably don't know any better than to make such a comment.
As for it being extremely cold? You are kidding right? It sounds as if it was f'n freezing! In winter if it even approaches 10C here it is all hands to the panic stations to don the old thermals and fire up the heaters. Fortunately it is summer here at the moment and we are drifting along quite nicely in a haze around 35 to 40C
But keep up the resolve to freeze your butt off; and please keep posting winter shots for our enjoyment and from which we can learn to help us improve our efforts.
These are all very good landscapes, but my favourite is #3. I like the combination of the monochrome foreground and murkily-coloured skies.
John
I like #1 for its art and #4 for its colors
Thank you all for the positive and constructive comments. On to my next challenge No. 2. See my next post!!
Interesting series Arnold #2 seems a bit too dark, is that because of a heavy vignette? If so, I would reduce it a bit.
