    My wife's name for it.
Notice the professionally installed CAT-5 line for my DSL.
You won't like this competition - it's painful...
The anti-hole where most of my gear is stored.

I get to move out of the basement in the next couple of months...IF I behave myself.

Phew. That was a close one. I hadn't noticed the thread and could have been expelled due to a lack of concentaration and attention.

I'm seeing black, minimalist, loft-apartment, Bauhaus furniture, 80's yuppie-control-freak, structure and discipline...
Nah!. Well ... 1895, stone built cottage. Extension added in 2005 (where this is)

I have to say that the idea for this thread came from you. I kept looking at your avatar and thinking, [I]"there's Donald sitting at his desk....
You missed out, "And doesn't he look majestic and magnificent"

PS: what is that cut-out in the desk for?
What cut-out? You mean the front curve? Just a design thing

    PPS: Get a black keyboard.
That one works fine and I've got the Cokin Z (or Lee?) system still to get for the Tokina 11-16.

Genetic thing, Donald. The same thing happened at Culloden. (Ouch smilie here)

A serious point here, if I may.

Don't you think that all of these images somehow suggest the state of western culture? We are always hearing about Photoshop junkies and kids locked in their rooms watching movies and computer gaming. These images seem to me to show an insight into that. I'm, impressed by the objects on display and what they show about the owners.

    end of serious point.

OK, Jim. I haven't seen pine panelling and ceiling-tiles like that since 1968. I lurv the cable management system you have. My wife (H&S freak) would have a fit.

When you move out of that room I suggest you leave it empty, and set up a large-scale chess board using the floor tiles.

Your equipment cupboard (sorry, closet) looks a tad sinister.

Your safe on the continued CiC membership.

Boning up on your wine whilst waiting for CiC to load I see. Hard back too. I didn't think they sold those in Scotland.

Very nice, Yi. A subtle fusion of contemporary and traditional. Two screens, one for Photoshop the other for the Simpsons. And a post-it board to remind you of great locations to go out and shoot. I see you are out!

    You're safe.

    Rob,

I've noticed a change here I hardly ever see or hear kids playing outside.
At the parks and pools yes,but around their homes, not much.I DO wish I had a better grasp on computer technology. Some of the kids I know amaze me with what they understand.
    Different times for sure.

Good eye! The house was built in 1968.This is the only room in the house we didn't remodel.

Ah,the cupboard. What's around that right corner....might be a pit...."It puts the lotion on it's skin!"

Same here in the UK. You see lots of kids with parents, and particularly grand-parents, but very rarely on their own or in groups. Society seems to be gripped with some kind of paranoid fear over kids safety. But I suppose technolgy has attracted them to gaming and multi-media entertainment as well. When I were a lad it were different...

That separatory funnel hanging on the wall leaves much to the imagination.

Not as sinister as the rifle next to the desk No one disturbs you while you're working then?

Will it be out of the basement and into the shed? Garage? Caravan? You should check what your wife has planned before you relax your grip on your manhole...and I apologise as that sounds very wrong.

I wished it was like that round here; I noticed the gun, round here you need one If I have to go out after 9pm I sometimes get propositioned by 14 year old girls looking older, but you know they ain't cos they still wearing their school uniform. It's really embarrassing so I don't often go out after dark, except at 4am but I don't even do that now since loads of immigrants started a war against each other.

I'm going to be moved into an office on the 2nd floor of the house. It's more a "clench" than a grip on the old manhole.

    Steve,

I live in a fairly small town(20,000 pop.).I can walk just about anywhere at any time without fear. There is a section in downtown where I wouldn't go even during the day. It's where the crack dealers work.

Oh, well spotted, that man. A rifle! I never saw that - I think I was too mesmerised by the ceiling tiles which reminded me of 1969 (probably because I spent most of 1969 on my back).

That didn't come out right, did it?
