    Winnipeg winter (Winterpeg)

Just some snaps of Winter Winnipeg with a Nikon L110 coolpix. Very little PP. Nothing fancy.
This is what I’ll be looking at for the next three months or so.
In Winterpeg (as we call it) with the snow and temps of -45c with the wind-chill it is hard to motivate oneself to get out with the camera. Plus one gets a bit jaded with their local area as there is not much to shoot.

A couple taken at the airport in December 2016, desolate looking place or what!

A few of the snow clearing efforts on my street. The snowbanks at the street corners are a safety hazard as one is halfway across the road before you can see past the snowbanks. They were reducing the height of the snowbanks on the corners or the road and increasing the height of the snowbanks along out street.

No. 1 Winnipeg Airport looking north. 1/226s. F7.4. FL 6.4 mm (FL in35 mm equivalent is 36 mm)

But the weather does not stop Winnipegers from getting about. Last week we set a record for Jan. we had 67 HOURS with temps just above freezing. With temps of +2c people were out jogging and playing hockey in their shorts. Don't have to be crazy to live here but it helps.

Where's my hot water bottle, I am getting cold looking at your images. You definitely captured the snow and ice feel. Great series.

    Thanks for the comments Madcrow.
It sure wasn't like that when I was in Cork and Blarney three years ago.
Love your photo of the old sod.
