    Art Nouveau

This pharmacy was built in the Art Nouveau period. Still this building is used as a pharmacy in Leeuwarden, capital of the province of Friesland, Netherlands.

Nice building Arnold. I would open up the shadows a bit at the bottom part of the frame. It would be nice to have some more room around, but even if not I like the image

Binnur,I understand your comment, it was difficult to pick out the photo disturbing elements. That's why I framed the picture tight. The style of the building I wanted to emphasize more, therefore admitted adds the dark parts.

I don't know the place but it seems to be a tad over saturated ....and dark

+1 to Binnur's comments, also crop at top is a bit severe; which lens were you using and did you have your back against a wall? Sometimes city planning is so tight that you cannot get all of a structure within the frame.

    John,

The lens was a 24-105 mm on a Canon 70D. As I appointed in my answer to Binnur, there was a lot of background clutter, and was forced to frame so tight.

Considering the restrictions, I think you did very well. Nice image.

OK Tony, the house is green but to me it would resemble to that tone, the RHS building seems to look more natural

I wasn't there to take the picture so I can say you are right, the last version seems better, but still yellowish IMO.
Do you use a calibrated screen?

I like the solid saturation and exposure of the pharmacy and what a fabulous building. Nice shot.
Have you used an orton effect process on the shot?

I don't know what a orton effect is. I took the photo true lightroom, made it a little darker en that's it.

    Re: Art Nouveau

Thanks Arnold. Orton effect is a process that slightly smooths out the grain in an image and also affects the brightness and contrast a bit.
I don't know if Lightroom even has it as I don't use it. Photoshop probably has orton effect as an adjustment but I don't have that either. I prefer not to rent my software
