    Countryside

I caught the sun peeking out just for few moments. Wish I had more time to compose.

The composition is terrific, regardless of the short amount of time you had to make everything happen. Nice colors too!

A really nice image which shows how effective comparatively humble landscapes can be given the right approach

Sam, I love the colours. I have just scrolled down to the tree tops RHS. Just a thought. The reason is that it emphasizes the beautiful gate. I would like to know what other people thinks about that idea.

A lovely capture of a simple scene. Demonstrating yet again the wonder of good lighting. I think the Ole is on to something as well. Perhaps consider a 4x5 crop with some sky removed.

Lovely image Sam, I agree with Ole about cropping the image from the top

    Re: Countryside

Thanks for the suggestion on the cropping Ole. In my mind's eye it placed more emphasis on the fence & gate which may in fact be better. I still need to ponder that a bit more.

I took the below picture a few moments after the first. It is 4x5 crop but not the same composition.

Sam, this is radically different from the first image. It could work. The light on the tree is very pleasing. But now the gate is in the way. There is so much in these images that I like. Keep it up. I am sure you will get it right. Would like other people to have an input.
    Cheers Ole

    Re: Countryside

The second image more colorful and pleasing; seeing half -a-fence is the only thing i am not sure about

    Re: Countryside

I prefer the first shot. It might be a rickety old fence but it adds a lot to the image which is lost in your second.

    Re: Countryside

I too prefer the first shot Sam, the fence and light add to the composition a lot in that one
