Beautiful indeed. Looks like you hit the weather window just right. Really a nice set of images. Well done.
Nice to have you visit NZ! The sound is awesome and many people don't realize how big it is - that it can dwarf even the largest cruise ships. You DID strike it lucky as regards the weather. Because the Tasman Sea is 4degC warmer than normal we have been deluged with a series of strong weather patterns that have made it one of the least summery summers!
Did you manage to do the Milford Track?
Beautiful photos. Seems it would be hard to leave that area.
Thanks everyone for the comments. It really is a magical place.
And here in southern Queensland, Australia we're having a hottish very dry summer wet season.
Didn't do the Track due to travelling with others one of whom was wearing a "Moon Boot" due to a broken bone in her foot.
Re the size of things this is in no way the largest waterfall and this is not exactly a cruise ship but the arrow is pointing to a kayaker who is really quite a way out from the falls.
Great photos but can't see any of the sandflies that populate the area. (Bigger than midges and have a better bite!). You certainly got great weather as annual rainfall is about 6.25 metres, or up to 250mm (10") in 24 hrs
Ken, you certainly weren't joking about the average rainfall! I looked up Milford Sound in Wikipedia. It has some average climate data and if my mental arithmetic is correct, the rainfall averages 3/4" per day and even the "drier" months average 1/2" per day. I hope it's not that wet in your part of the south island.

Excellent set of images with very pleasing colours; the last image in the first set is great artistic interpretation of the scenery
Wonderful set that brings back great memories. The creativity of #6 makes it special.
Magnificent scenery and great photos. I especially like #4.
John
Magnificent landscapes, you captured the vastness and the beauty of the place. Thanks, a joy to look at.
Nice pictures of a wonderful landscape. (I'd love to vist in theory, but not likely to happen, since I don't fly and can't stand midges, so I'll just enjoy the photos)
Nice series.
Bucket list territory for me, particularly after seeing these. Great set.
Wow, that's magnificent!
Spectacular scenery, beautifully captured.
Considering that #4 is your favorite, perhaps try applying a dehaze tool to the appropriate areas of the image.
Also, that image and some of the others display unattractive artifacts in the lower right corner resembling a watermark at low opacity.
