Thought provoking in that the caption forces me to think more about the subject and what he is doing. I can see the concept perhaps or possibly I am over thinking the composition.

Albert Einstein reputedly said "Things should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler".
I find that this image fails this "test". An image that is about 95% blank is perhaps too simple to work well,

The tension between the subject and frame draws the viewer right in.
