From the left a bright light through Styrofoam. From behind a flashlight behind yellow paper and then a translucent multi shades of brown polished stone. On the right more white Styrofoam to reflect some light.

    Hope that helps?

Thank you Brian, for me light painting was made with hand-held portable torch with successive movements.
    Hence my question

The background gives the scene a very nice fairytale effect. I wouldn't call it light painting but I sure would call it being creative.

You mentioned that you used "a flashlight behind yellow paper and then a translucent multi shades of brown polished stone" to create the background. Was that done with one capture or multiple captures that were then merged?

Excellent work. For light painting light source(torch) must be moved like a brush

One shot. But one shot out of many.
