The main problem I have shooting with my 7D and 7DII cameras is that Canon has (for some strange reason) reversed the dial controls.
On all prior Canon DSLR cameras with which I have shot (10D, 30D, 40D, 5D2 and 7D) there are buttons across the camera, with each of the buttons controlling two functions....
Modifying these functions is done with the two control dials. On all the previous cameras, the first function listed by each button (such as Drive, by the Drive - AF button) is controlled by the main button on top of the camera while the second function listed is controlled by the large Quick Control Dial at the back of the camera.
However, my Canon 7D Mark-2 has reversed that sequence. The first listed function is controlled by the large Quick Control Dial while the second listed function is controlled by the main dial atop the camera...
This really disturbs me since I often shoot with two cameras and I am used to modifying the various functions without looking at them, just by pressing the appropriate button and using the correct dial.
Is there any way that the 7D Mark-2 (or possibly the 7D) could be modified so that both of my cameras use the same dial to modify the controls? This would make shooting a LOT EASIER for me...
I am thinking that the Canon developer who reversed the dial sequence is Mrs. Takiyuma. You all know her, she doubles as the Ladies' Room Cleaner at the Canon Plant
Or did I press some magic button on my 7D2 which switched the dial sequence. I have been known to do things like that
