Mike, I do not want to copy you, but you make me want to try this style of photo.
I took what I had at hand, a bottle of good Italian wine, with a nice label, a glass, a candle (placed behind the bottle to illuminate the contents of the glass, an LED bedside lamp placed at the height of the table (without diffuser). .. and a lens opening at 1.2, hence the pretty bokeh.
The whole hand raised because too hurried to arrive at the result.
Some cleaning operations in Photoshop CC and voila.

Jean, I hope you won't be in trouble with the authorities. Isn't it a form or treason for you to drink any wine that is not of French origin?

French wines are so expensive. In addition this Italian one is good, cheap and organic.

Looking at this file The Style of Herman Van Den Berge I am tempted to propose this HDR version with a single file made with the software Oloneo (http://www.oloneo.com/)

    Re: in the style of

First, there's not a thing wrong with copying stuff I or anyone does. Second, I've never made a photo like this, so it's not at all a copy of anything I've done.

Everything about photographing glass in a traditional style such as this requires making the transparent areas appear that way, ensuring that all edges of the transparent glass are defined without having to study the image, using wanted reflections to add style to the image and/or to help display the shape of the glass, and to ensure there are no unwanted reflections. You've done an excellent job of making those basics happen and you've provided an appealing background and tabletop that complement everything. I especially like the special touch that the circular parts of the design in the label so nicely complement the bokeh and vice versa. I also like the informal, off-center position of the wine label.

There's just one "mistake:" You apparently digitally eliminated glare (a direct reflection) in the bottom area of the bottle and forgot to eliminate the same glare in the reflection located in the tabletop. The physics of light prevent that situation from happening in reality and the style of this photo indicates to me that you would not want to create such an unreal situation (though it's a lot of fun to intentionally create those situations in photos made in a different style).

Just as a matter of interest, I wouldn't be able to make an image like this in my makeshift studio. That's because it is so small that I wouldn't be able to position the camera far enough away from the subject to keep all of it in focus while using such a large aperture. You took great advantage of your situation to make an extremely appealing photo.

Mike, it's a real honor to get a comment like this from you, I thank you very much.

You are right, I saw that and told me I'll do better next time
