    Harbour At Port Fairy

Took this at our recent trip. The impressive sky is pretty much how it was. C&C as always.

Nice, the sky is a tad noisy, you push to high your cursors.
I understand why, I do the same

The sky certainly is quite impressive if a little grainy. I think it needed some noise reduction before sharpening.

What bothers me as well is that the horizon doesn't appear level. It looks higher on the left of the image than on the right.

A nice choice to emphasize the sky. Being a boat lover I wish you'd posted a bit larger version for a better look. The line of the hill keeps the off-level from being hugely noticeable. But on a photography forum you know we can't over look it

As far as I can tell from this image, the verticals are all upright so the shot is level. Any apparent variation must be an optical illusion.

Yes, I did wonder about a crop from the sky which creates a different looking scene; but in many ways I would have preferred to keep the hight and see a little more of the sides. Possibly you had to exclude something. This current photo is perfectly acceptable though.

When faced with potentially noisy skies like this I try two different conversions from the same Raw file; one for the foreground and another with more noise reduction and less initial sharpening for the sky.

Also, I sometimes sharpen on a duplicate layer then partially mask out the sharpening on any problem areas such as dark sky areas or waves on the sea, etc.

However, this won't help if you don't have suitable software to work with layers and masks.
