In the last set of photos, which are very nice, I notice that you used the same setup. However, some of the photos display rather hard shadows and some display rather soft shadows. (The shadows in #6, #8 and #10 are relatively soft and the others are relatively hard). I prefer the softer ones and wonder why you chose the use of different qualities of shadows.
I've never used a soft box for this type of photography, so I wonder what the purpose of using a soft box is when the result isn't soft shadows. Is the difference between the quality of shadows explained by the difference in distance between the light sources and the subject?
